Job Purpose
Grassroots Journeys has been building market traction and a robust online platform over the last 12 months and is now moving into an exciting period that will focus on expanding the scope of its activities.
The International Programmes Coordinator (IPC) will play an integral role in kick-starting this expansion. The IPC will take the lead and develop working relationships with a wide range of community tourism stakeholders, such as local indigenous groups, not-for-profit organisations, and travel companies. Capturing accurrate information about these entities will be a core component of the job and vital to the growing online platform that is Grassroots Journeys.
Key responsibilities
• Researching and assessing the potential of initiatives/organisations internationally
• Contacting relevant initiatives/organisations and setting up working relationships
• Coordinating and creating a portfolio of profiles on the relevent initiatives/organisations
• Managing and organising this information in an accessable format for online publication and promotion
Qualifications and requirements
• At least an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (International development, international relations, business, marketing)
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely in an engaging style.
• High proficiency in computing skills, especially use of MS Word and email.
• Excellence in communication, particularly in the ability to form effective working relationships
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Passion for travel and development
• Working knowledge of Spanish desirable, but not essential
