www.grassrootsjourneys.com (‘this Website, ‘the Service’) is operated by Grassroots Journeys (‘the publisher’ ‘we’, ‘ourselves’ or ‘us’). These terms of business (these terms) govern agreements between us and you; the individuals, companies and/or organisations using the website and its services to display and/or purchase listings, advertising and/or sponsorship (‘the member’, ‘the supplier’, ‘you’, ‘your’).

In this agreement, “Customer” means the person(s) (or any of them) viewing, enquiring about, or using the goods and services provided by you or on your behalf. This will include but is not limited to ‘travel arrangements’ (accommodation, facilities, meals, activities, equipment and other services (or any of them), as applicable).

In accepting these terms, you are also accepting the general Terms of Use, which can be found as a link at the bottom of the website homepage. In the case of any dispute, neither document stands alone or carries authority over the other.

Submitting an online application to appear on the website and/or the submission of information to us by any other means signifies acceptance of these Terms of Business and General Terms of Use.
‘Information’ refers to copy for profiles, listings, newsletters, guides, blogs, advertising, shop, sponsorship and/or any other information provided by you to us.

Our service to you

For all suppliers, we agree to act as an advertising intermediary by providing space to feature your goods and services on the website. We do not sell or resell any of the goods or services displayed on the website, since this is best done direct by you, who is the expert, and can ensure the goods or services are able to meet the requirements of the customer.

As such we do not act as an agent; we do not take money on your behalf or act as go between in any issues relating to a customer’s experience. Any dealings between a customer and any supplier found on or via this Website, including the payment for, and delivery of, products or services, and any other terms, conditions, contracts, warranties or representations associated with such dealings, are solely between the customer and the relevant supplier, and are done so at their own risk.

The aim of our website, and the other services we provide through it, is to promote your products and services, in the hope this will generate business opportunities for you. Where appropriate we will endeavour to present you with such information as required to assist you in determining the benefit you are receiving from our services. We are sure you can appreciate that we cannot make any guarantee, representation or warranty that your appearance on this site or use of any of our services will directly result in new customers, sales or business opportunities.

Suppliers of travel arrangements will be welcomed as members of grassrootsjourneys.com when, at our sole discretion, we are satisfied they fulfil, and are committed to, our membership criteria. We reserve the right to refuse a supplier or their products from appearing on this website at any time. We will always try to give a reasonable explanation, but will not be obliged to do so.

Your responsibilities

The popularity of this site (and therefore the scale of benefit it can deliver to our members and suppliers) relies upon accurate, complete and up to date information. This in turn is reliant upon your adherence to a number of key responsibilities.

We aim to maintain a constant dialogue with our suppliers and resolve any issues promptly. If any suppliers are not fulfilling their obligations then this may result in their pages being removed from the site until any problems are rectified.

Compliance with our membership criteria

In submitting an application to join us you are confirming you feel your operations meet our criteria. At any time we will not hesitate to reject or suspend members who we feel do not meet our high standards.

In particular you confirm that;
1. All goods, services and travel arrangements you feature on this site will be provided with all due skill, care and diligence, will at all times remain of a good and clean standard, in full working order and safe for occupation and use.
2. When required you hold valid operating licenses, certificates and permits confirming such compliance, and as required by any relevant local, regional, national or international authorities.
We encourage reviews and feedback from our customers to ensure that standards we require are maintained.
In the event of a complaint made to us, we commit to discussing the issues raised fully with the supplier concerned to determine whether the complaint was justified and to determine if the criteria to which the supplier has committed are being adhered to.

Information and Images

Suppliers agree that it is their responsibility to submit information and check that all information is accurate, up to date, and complete. We reserve the right to request amendments, or remove any information that is not complete, accurate or up to date, and to take further action as deemed necessary to resolve such a situation.

Advertisements are accepted on the understanding that any descriptions of goods, services, stock etc. are accurate
You warrant that you own or control all rights or have obtained copyright, moral rights and similar permissions, consents, waivers as are required for the display of logos and trademarks in copy provided to the publisher.

You warrant that no copyright or moral rights or any other rights of a similar nature now existent or hereinafter created will be infringed by the publisher publishing the information and images provided.

It is your responsibility to ensure that images provided to us are an accurate representation of the product.

We reserve the right to approve, amend or decline copy at our sole discretion and without explanation. We also reserve the right to change the layout of supplier pages, the information that is displayed, and the look and feel of the site as we deem appropriate and without notice.

We may wish to use information and images for marketing your product other than just on the website. You agree that all information and images provided can be used in other forms of marketing, only when expressly connected to your product, without prior approval.

In circumstances where we believe information or an image might be useful in more generic ways, we will undertake to gain your prior approval.

Payment and charges

We provide a free detailed listing space for the products and services offered by our members that qualify as not-for-profit entities. In return we simply ask that the members display their membership logo as a live link from the homepage of their own website.

For-profit businesses and organisations pay membership fees that apply to aspects of our service, as detailed on the site and in our correspondence with you. We reserve the right to alter the price at any time. You will be notified of any changes in advance, and prices will always be clearly defined in relevant sections of the website.

Where a charge is applicable, we always ask to receive payment before we undertake to deliver the relevant service to you, unless expressly agreed otherwise.

We agree to refund any money paid if we do not complete the service or upgrade as described and agreed to at the time of payment.

Liability

1. Suppliers accept all responsibility and liability for their holidays and for their customers and agree that Grassroots Journeys has no liability.
2. Grassroots Journeys accepts no liability whatsoever for any activity or behaviour of any persons who have used the site, made an enquiry through the site or for any behaviour or activity of persons booking and staying with members.
3. Grassroots Journeys accepts no liability for any of the information supplied to us by suppliers for publishing on the site(s).
4. As far as is permissible by applicable law, we accept no liability for any loss however caused through omission from the web site, typographical errors or late publication or failure from any cause, whether error, technical, late publication or failure to display listings, advertising and/or sponsorship. In any event, our liability for any loss or damage whether caused by negligence or otherwise will be limited to the cost of any listings, advertising and/or sponsorship and we will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage or loss of profit of the purchaser or of any other party nor be liable for any other loss however suffered.

You agree to indemnify us against all losses, damages, claims or expenses (including legal costs), which we may reasonably incur, on account of any claim by a third party arising directly or indirectly from the information provided by you for listings, advertising and/or sponsorship, or from the activities, mal-practice or negligence of you, the supplier. This may include, but is not limited to, claims that any information provided by you, the supplier, is in anyway misleading, inaccurate, libellous and/or offensive, and any action for breach of contract, and/or any tortious action.

Termination

If adherence to the requirements set out in these Terms of Business is not maintained then we reserve the right to remove your pages from the site and in this event no refund will be payable.
